Hanoi, Oct 10 (Prensa Latina) The general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Nguyen Phu Trong, received Olga Lidia Tapia, a member of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC)''s Central Committee on Wednesday.
Phu Trong stated that relations of cooperation and friendship between the two nations are at an excellent time, and repeated his country's will to continue strengthening them.
For her part, Tapia, who heads the Education, Sports and Science Department at the PCC's Central Committee, recalled the Vietnamese communist leader's visit to Cuba in March, and praised the two countries' efforts to implement the agreements signed at the time.
Tapia was accompanied by the members of her delegation and Cuban Ambassador in Hanoi Lianys Torres accompanied Tapia.
The Cuban leader previously met with Vo Van Thuong, a member of the Political Bureau and CPV Secretariat and the head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission of the CPV Central Committee.
Both leaders shared experiences about the political and ideological work done by the parties in their respective countries, particularly among young people, and lauded the good state and full understanding of ties between the two parties and governments.
Early on Wednesday, the Cuban delegation laid a wreath at the bust in honor Jose Marti at a park in Hanoi.
On Thursday, Tapia will travel to Ho Chi Minh City (the most populous city in Vietnam), where she will visit a high-tech industrial park and will meet with leaders of the CPV Provincial Committee.
